The Mission of this Commission is to advise the City Council and City staff so as to provide excellent parks and recreation facilities, to preserve open space and to provide programs that enrich, educate and serve the needs of the diversity of the residents in Richmond.
Starting her information technology career at IBM in 1966 while attending one of the first computer science degree programs in the US (University of Rochester in NY), Maryn has acquired decades of experience in Information Technology encompassing strategic planning, infrastructure architecture and design, business and technical requirements definition, technical design engineering, project planning/management and focused facilitation. She founded and has owned Technology Affiliates International since 1987.
She is the mother of five adult sons in a blended family. With her husband, Garry, she enjoys international travel and several community service roles including founding and running the Richmond Tennis Association, a 501 (c)(3) city partner, teaching tennis to the youth of Richmond starting at age 3 and maintaining and improving the property and facilities around the “Plunge” pool in an “Adopt-a-Spot” program with the City of Richmond. Her community service goal is to improve the quality of healthy, active lifestyles of Richmond residents one little bite at a time.
